my story

I am a single mom to three bright, eccentric children living in Toronto, Canada. I am an Early Childhood Educator by trade and an autism advocate by circumstance.

My oldest son, Liam was born in 2003. When he was 3 years old he received an autism diagnosis and everything turned upside-down. Over the past ten years I have navigated the system of autism services and have found myself motivated to reach out to parents and professionals who touch the lives of children with autism.

In 2005 Liam's little sister Kaya was born. She is a very busy, happy girl who has ADHD and is also gifted with a learning disability. In 2013 we rounded out our little family when my second son Phoenix was born. He also received an autism diagnosis before he turned two, and things went topsy-turvey all over again.

Over the past few years I have found myself becoming an unexpected advocate. As I learned to give a voice to my children, I discovered a passion for advocating for children, parents and families in the autism community. The Possibility Parables blog follows my family's journey through life with autism and my work as an advocate for my community.
